Santa is making an extra early trip to Port Hedland this year as he takes a coffee break from toy making to attend the Royal Flying Doctor Service breakfast this Sunday.

The charity fundraiser event organised by Hai’s Coffee is sure to excite with a pre-Christmas visit from the big man, face painting, Jungle Body and a gathering of emergency services personnel at Cemetery Beach Park from 7am to 10am on December 10.

Event spokesman Chris Bleach said the event was originally a reward for customers that had evolved to donate proceeds to the RFDS.

“It started out as just a breakfast for our customers to say thanks for the good year and it’s grown from there and been supported by our customers,” he said.

“We’ve done very well this year and we wanted to celebrate that - Hai is the kind of person to give back all the time, she’s got a job that she just loves and the customers are fantastic.”

“We’ve never done anything like it before, and there’s been a few hiccups along the way but we’ve had so much support.”

“That’s the thing we love about the community here, they just get right behind you and band together for a good cause - Santa is coming and bringing a little something for the kids.”
