GeoMoby underground mine location technology gaining traction after installation in Goldfields operations

Perth company GeoMoby says its location technology is gaining traction internationally, with sales revenue expected to double this financial year after successful installation in Goldfields underground mines. GeoMoby said its technology had been installed at six underground mining operations in WA. It was most recently used during last month’s 2025 Underground Emergency Response Competition at Norton Gold Fields’ Bullant mine north of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The company’s “green lunchbox” nodes continuously monitor, in real-time, all assets — individual miners, vehicles, equipment and third-party vendors’ sensors. The system can track individual personnel within refuge chambers, enable the playback of replays during communication blackouts to show last-known locations, and can implement a roll-call process for welfare checks. GeoMoby founder and chief executive Chris Baudia said the company installed 40 nodes in 37 minutes at Bullant and the company had received positive feedback from competitors. Mr Baudia said mines across the world were now seeking GeoMoby’s technology. “Our aim in 2026 is to establish an even bigger footprint in Australia — particularly in South Australia, Queensland and Victoria — as well as conduct further installations and trials around the world,” he said. “We are particularly focused on establishing GeoMoby communications in large underground mines in South Africa, South America, New Zealand, Canada, Indonesia and the US. “Our technology — using Bluetooth and a proprietary mesh network — continues to make mining safer globally, so every worker can return home safe, each day.” GeoMoby director Mathieu Paul said the company’s sales had grown substantially from 2022 to 2025. “We are expected to at least double our revenue in 2025-26, in part driven by a substantial uptick in international sales, particularly to South America, US and North America,” he said. “The world recognises that a high-quality mining innovation has been invented and developed in Western Australia and our team at GeoMoby is subsequently growing. “Therefore, we will increase our capacity to service growing order numbers.”
