A Harvey artist’s mural work was vandalised with graffiti around Anzac Day, with the original piece on the water tank at the 10th Light Horse Bridle Trail.

The Shire of Harvey have began a mural trail throughout the town to bring a splash of colour to the bush lands with works spread through the region, including on public toilet blocks.

However, one at the 10th Light Horse Bridle Trail was vandalised around Anzac Day.

But, a young resident took it upon himself to right the situation and cleaned the graffiti up himself.

Shire of Harvey president Michelle Campbell the endearing acts was “just so respectful”.

“I’m really chuffed someone used their initiative to go out there and clean it,” she said.

“It puts faith back in humanity. It was a great outcome and well done to everyone that was involved in cleaning that up.”

“It was really disappointing to see that because of timing. I mean graffiti is horrible to see at any time, but that was around Anzac Day as well so that’s pretty personal, pretty disrespectful.”
