Snake bite victim flown into Hedland
A snake bite victim has been flown into Hedland Health Campus by the Royal Flying Doctor Service after being bitten while out on the Canning Stock Route.
It is understood the victim was about 200km from the Parnngurr community, east of Newman, when bitten.
An RFDS spokesperson said the victim was driven into Parnngurr by an off-road vehicle “at best speed” to reach the closest landing strip for the RFDS.
The patient arrived in Port Hedland at 11.15am and was still being treated.
