A “mini-tornado” has swept through Bertram this afternoon, skittering trampolines and bringing down fences.

Residents told 7NEWS the storm hit just before 3pm and caused several minutes of madness.

State Emergency Services volunteers helped clear up the debris. Winds tore down a number of fences, smashed windows and send a shed flying.

The huge wind gusts also sent a trampoline into the air before it landed on a house roof.

Residents described the storm as a “mini tornado” and say it was terrifying.

"We were lucky - we had some neighbours who just came to the rescue straight away,” one local said.

“I'm a bit shaken up as I saw what happened but there's nothing I can do about it now, I think we just need to wait for the insurance to cover everything.”

SES volunteers are in the area tonight, making sure priorities are safe. No injuries were reported.
