Motorcycle rider seriously injured in Cloverdale crash

A motorcycle rider has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Cloverdale.

Photos of the aftermath of the crash show the man’s black Suzuki motorbike crushed and lying on its side, while a badly damaged Mitsubishi Express van has come to a stop nearby across a kerb nearby.

Police said both vehicles collided on Abernethy Road, near Keane Street just before 9pm.

The 23-year-old woman driving the van escaped serious injury, while the motorcyclist, believed to be in his 30s, was taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital.

It is understood he was conscious and talking as paramedics treated him at the scene.

Officers from the WA Police traffic enforcement group are investigating the crash are urging anyone who saw the crash or either vehicle travelling in the area beforehand, or who has dashcam vision, to come forward.
