A truck rollover forced part of a major Perth highway to close on Thursday afternoon.

The Tonkin Highway southbound exit to Neaves Road was shut as emergency crews worked to clear the area.

Police attended the scene in Bullsbrook.

A short clip shared by Main Roads shows the truck’s trailer turned on its side, with a load of yellow sand strewn across the left lane.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area before the crash as cleared by 6.11pm.

Earlier, a truck collided with a car further west on Tonkin Highway in Lexia.

The crash forced the closure of the northbound left lane after Gnangara Road, before the area was cleared by 2.33pm.
