‘Serious’ Albany Highway crash causing delays after Kwinana Freeway crash caused congestion ahead of weekend

A ‘serious’ crash has closed a major Perth Highway as motorists travel across the State for the Easter long weekend.

Albany Highway eastbound at Admiral Road has been closed as emergency crews attend the scene.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route as traffic is slow in the area.

Earlier at 2.59pm, a crash on the Kwinana Freeway caused traffic mayhem for city-dwellers heading down south for their Easter festivities.

The crash occurred on the freeway southbound at Manning Road in Como.

The right lane was blocked off, causing traffic to come to a crawl.

Crews cleared the crash by 4.21pm, but traffic remains slow on approach.

Another crash in West Perth caused congestion for motorists travelling east on the Graham Farmer Freeway.

Reported at 4.02pm, the crash forced the right lane to be shut off from motorists.

Towing services attended the scene and the crash was cleared by 4.20pm.

Main Roads posted to X to remind motorists of double demerits that will be in force from Thursday until Monday April 6 at 11:59pm.
