Vintage World War-era aircraft crashes near North Pine Dam, emergency crews scramble through bushland

Emergency crews are in a desperate dash through rugged bushland after a vintage warbird plunged to the ground north of Brisbane on Wednesday morning. The aircraft went down just before 9am, crashing in thick scrub near North Pine Dam at Samsonvale. Firefighters, paramedics and police were forced to weave through private properties and dense terrain to reach the wreckage. A man was winched out and flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. Authorities are still trying to confirm whether he was the only person onboard at the time of the crash. More to come
