Cleo Smith search: Community vows to band together to find missing Cleo

VideoPolice are exploring whether whoever took Cleo Smith from her tent had visited her family home beforehand, amid fears the abduction could have been pre-meditated.

Carnarvon will do “anything it takes” to find Cleo Smith, as the town prepares to hold a candlelit vigil for the four-year-old tonight.

Locals are rallying together in support of the Smith family, with one saying they will not rest until the little girl is back home.

The man, who only wants to be referred to as Ken, said the town want to add to the $1 million reward that is on offer for the safe return of Cleo.

“We will do anything, and if it’s money these people want then we will muster up everything we can and put it towards the reward money,” he said.

“At the end of the day all we want is Cleo home, and you can’t put a price on that.”

Ken said the small town will forever be changed by the devastating incident.

Saturday marked the one week anniversary since Cleo’s abduction from her family’s tent at the Blowholes Campsite.

Forensic officers were at mum Ellie Smith’s house on Saturday scouring the perimeter for evidence.

They were dusting the fence line and windows for any fingerprints to see if someone had been stalking the family.

Officers said it was a completely standard process and did not mean the parents were suspects.

The vigil will be held at the local church at 6pm, and all town members are welcome to come along.
