Former WA police commissioner Karl O’Callaghan will join The West Live this morning to discuss WA Police’s admission that they made a mistake by granting bail to an alleged sex offender whose 11-year-old victim Annaliesse Ugle took her own life.

The child’s death has sent shock waves across the State, including within the WA Police Force according to Assistant Commissioner of Regional WA, Jo McCabe.

“The tragic death of an 11-year-old girl sits heavily on the officers as mothers, as fathers and community members,” she said.

“An early assessment of this case and the seriousness of the offences tells me that police bail should have been opposed and not considered in this instance.
