Kalamunda attack: Detectives investigating after four masked men steal car

Detectives want to speak to two good Samaritans who helped after four masked men dragged the occupants out of a car parked on the popular Zig Zag Scenic Drive and took off with it in a frightening ordeal on Monday night.

Police say the victims were sitting in a parked grey Volkswagen Golf on the side of the scenic drive in Kalamunda when a dark coloured hatchback pulled up alongside them about 8.30pm.

“Four men wearing dark clothing and face coverings exited the vehicle and proceeded to approach the Volkswagen Golf, subsequently pulling the victims from the vehicle,” police said.

“All four men entered the vehicle and drove away in convoy with the dark coloured hatchback.”

An unknown couple, who were also confronted by the occupants of the dark coloured hatchback, assisted the victims, police said.

Midland detectives have carriage of the investigation and would like to identify and speak to the members of the public who helped the victims and anyone else who was in the area around 8.30pm on Monday.
