Mervyn Winmar, who was missing in South Hedland for nearly a week, has tragically been found deceased.

Police issued an appeal for Mr Winmar’s whereabouts last week, having concerns for the 39-year-old’s welfare.

He was last seen on Limpet Crescent in South Hedland on April 4. Police said his body was found on Monday.

“Earlier today, police located Mr Winmar deceased in the Pilbara region,” a WA Police Force spokesman said.

“His death is being treated as non-suspicious and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.”
