Perth is set for a relatively sunny Easter long weekend with partial cloud cover to accompany the deluge of chocolate goodies set inundate homes on Sunday.

Good Friday will be mostly sunny with a high of 28C, with the rest of the weekend to be a balmy 25C or under.

With just a slight chance of a shower or two, it’s looking like near-perfect egg-hunting weather for those so inclined on Sunday.

A number of events are happening across the metro area, with the Easter bunny himself rumoured to be making appearances around the grounds.

In the northern suburbs, Glass Slipper Entertainment’s Easter in the Park will take over Sunny Social at Hamersley Public Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 1pm.

Arts and crafts, lawn games, an Easter egg hunt and more are among the activities planned for visitors big and small.

Ella the Easter fairy is excited to hang out with her friend the Easter bunny as they meet lots of new friends over the weekend.

“I just love seeing the looks on the kids’ faces whenever they see a fairy in real life, or the Easter bunny,” she said.

“It’s just so special to be able to spread that joy and make little dreams come true.”

The glowing fairy will be playing lawn games, helping with photo opportunities with the in-demand Easter bunny, and bringing some Easter joy to all who come by.

Those further south can hit the City of Cockburn’s Easter Fair on Saturday afternoon, from 3pm to 7pm.

There will be something for everyone at the free event taking over Aubin Grove Reserve, including the Twilight Markets full of handmade wares and fresh produce, as well as live music, roving entertainment and a variety of food trucks.

Further afield, the Swan Settlers Market has several events over the long weekend.

On Saturday, curious kids and brave parents can get up close and personal with snakes and other reptiles between 12pm and 2pm.

The following day will have some more cuddly options, with an animal farm set up at the market from 10am to 2pm.

A special Easter Egg Hunt will cap it all off on Monday starting at 11am sharp, with face-painting and other activities at the market too.

With double demerits kicking in on Good Friday, Road Safety Commissioner Adrian Warner urged everyone to stay safe on WA roads.

“Our message around Easter is we want everyone on the road — and that includes people in cars, motorbikes, pedestrians, cyclists, everyone — to have a safe Easter, to make their journey safe,” Mr Warner said.

That sentiment was echoed by Road Safety Minister Reece Whitby.

“What we want to avoid at all costs this season is the loss of any Western Australian in a road accident,” he said.

“This is a time to take it easy, to think about your journey.”
