Spring has officially sprung in Perth and it’s time to put away those winter woolies — at least for now.

Beach and bbq weather is finally upon us after one of the wettest and wildest winters on record.

A string of sunny days — kicked off with a glorious 21C for Fathers Day on Sunday — is set to continue for the first part of the week, with a forecast top of 28C on Tuesday shaping to be the hottest day in months.

The mercury will reach a bright and sunny 25C today with breezy north-easterly winds peaking at 30km/h into the afternoon.

Showers are set to return, though, with small amounts forecast to fall from Wednesday through to Friday, before the sun re-emerges just in time just in time for the weekend and bringing a top of 21C.

Bureau of Meteorology spokesperson Bob Tarr the warmer weather was just a little taste of spring, with the best yet to come.

"(It's going to be) really nice weather, and quite a nice weekend but some fairly cold mornings across the area,” Mr Tarr said.

"We are probably feeling some of the warmest weather we have had since about May, so get out and enjoy if you can," he said.

“Across the metro area we are looking at max temperatures across the mid-twenties. Tomorrow will be pretty close to 30C for some areas, so 28C in Perth tomorrow, but some places will be close to the 30 degree mark especially in our northern areas."

“We do have some winds out in the north and they will be reasonably fresh winds especially in the morning, and then easing off during the afternoons. It will be pretty dry as well with low humidity, so almost picture-perfect conditions tomorrow afternoon”

Mr Tarr said a few showers will develop throughout the week as a cold-front moves across the state.

“So we will be reaching 25C on Wednesday, still fairly warm but a bit more cloud around. We do have a cold front moving to the southwest corner and then that cold front is going to slow down on Thursday, so Thursday looks a little cloudy and only reaching 20 degrees," he said.

“Unfortunately the best weather comes on Monday and Tuesday, the week days, but it is a little taste of spring and I’m sure we will have plenty more to come.”

The warm weather makes a welcome change after Perth endured record rainy days.

The city posted one of the wettest Julys in 26 years, receiving 271.4mm and narrowly missing out on the all-time record of 278.6mm recorded in July 1995.

However, with 28 out of the 31 days raining for the month, it was the highest number of July rain days since 1946.
