Winter is coming: Cooler weather predicted for WA’s South West

Significant rainfall and possible thunderstorms are expected to hit WA’s South West from Monday as a series of cold fronts move over the region.

People in the South West can expect much cooler weather throughout the week, with temperatures set to drop to mid-to-high teens.

“Accumulated rainfall from Monday through to Thursday morning may be up to 20-45 mm for areas near the coast between Geraldton and Albany with isolated totals up to 60 mm,” Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Jessica Lingard said.

Additionally, an elevated fire danger was flagged in Gascoyne, Goldfields, Central Wheatbelt, South Interior and Eucla from Monday to Wednesday as warm northerly winds make their way across the regions.
