The murder of Corryn Rayney has ‘more clues than Claremont’, according to an independent forensic investigator.

The investigation into her murder, resulting in her husband Lloyd being charged, remains one of the most contentious in the State’s history.

The subsequent trial, one of the most scrutinized living memories, ended with Mr Rayney being acquitted of the murder and manslaughter of his wife, Corryn.

Mr Rayney also won one of the biggest defamation payouts in Australian legal history against the WA Police.

In a special part 2 episode of The West Australian’s true crime podcast Court in the Act, former British Detective Superintendent and independent forensic investigator Robin Napper says he holds out hope her killer will eventually be brought to justice.

“This case is so solvable, there’s 10 times more clues in this case than you ever had in Claremont,” Napper says.

“And if you get the right team, with the right material in the right place, and the WA police back out, this can still be solved.”

Napper joins host Tim Clarke to talk about the fallout of the multiple court cases, and share theories about what really happened the night of August 7, 2007.
