A man is due to face court after two police cars were rammed in Geelong.

The 20-year-old was arrested on Sunday night after Victoria Police officers tried to intercept a car at a service station on Thompson Rd.

A routine check showed the licence plates were false.

Two police cars blocked the motorist and he rammed them as he tried to escape.

Police smashed the car windows and used capsicum spray to arrest him.
