The two-time Fremantle best and fairest left their midfield defenceless after he moved to Brisbane.

But Neale said the Dockers are in “fine hands” with the new midfielders shaping up and filling the gaping hole that once was.

“They’ve got a young bloke Caleb Serong coming through, Andy Brayshaw, Adam Cerra, I think they’re set up really well for their midfield,” Neale said.

Before his departure to the Brisbane Lions, the 27 year-old midfielder said it was a “pleasure” to watch those players come through the club.

“I have a pretty special relationship with Andy Brayshaw and he had a great year this year,” he said.

“He’s only going to improve.”

Serong is contracted to the Dockers until the of 2023 while Brayshaw and Cerra will remain at the club until at least the end of 2021.
