Geelong forward Gary Rohan has been slapped with a two-game ban for his strike on Brisbane’s Lachie Neale.

In what was a spiteful contest, Neale was seen pushing off Rohan before the Cat retaliated and swung his fist at the reigning Brownlow Medallist.

Neale reacted by grabbing at his jaw before signalling the number three to Rohan, indicating how many weeks he thought Rohan would be sidelined for.

Commentator Jonathon Brown labelled Rohan’s actions as “undisciplined” and “stupid”.

The Match Review Panel assessed Rohan’s contact as high, intentional and of medium impact, resulting in a two-game ban.

Even with an early guilty plea, Rohan will join teammate Patrick Dangerfield on the sidelines for games against Hawthorn and Melbourne.

In better news for the Cats, Joel Selwood was cleared for his sling tackle on Lion Thomas Berry.

The whistle had blown before Selwood decided to tackle Berry to the ground.

But the Match Review Panel determined there was no case to answer.

Brisbane’s livewire forward Charlie Cameron was cited by the panel for his strike on Geelong’s Shaun Higgins.

He can accept a $2000 fine for his actions in the second term where he struck the Cats recruit on the body.
