Port Adelaide’s Connor Rozee will be fit to face West Coast this weekend after recovering from pre-season foot surgery.

The young forward opted to go under the knife on a “really unique” issue with a joint in his foot after his side’s big pre-season win over Adelaide.

Rozee, a top 10 draft pick in 2018 who has kicked 38 goals in 38 games, missed the Power’s two wins over North Melbourne and Essendon but will be available for selection against the Eagles at Optus Stadium.

“Rozee has not played since the club’s AAMI Community Series win over Adelaide, having had surgery to remove scar tissue around a joint in his foot,” a Port Adelaide spokesperson said.

“The 21-year-old is likely to be joined by fellow forward Todd Marshall, who was a late withdrawal from the weekend’s game against Essendon with back soreness.”

Giving coach Ken Hinkley a selection headache, Georgiades made the most of his 11th-hour call up, kicking four goals in the side’s 54-point win.

Hawks legend Jason Dunstall was full of praise for the young West Aussie after the match.

“Todd Marshall (would be) really nervous right about now he is the late withdrawal through injury and when the man who takes your spot plays a game like this it makes it impossible for you to drop him next week,” he said on Fox Footy.

“And the unfortunate thing for Marshall is they can’t play an extra tall, they have too many.”

Hinkley said it would be an interesting week for selection to join big man Charlie Dixon.

“We’ve said all year that the squad mentality is the way that we are going to approach it,” he said.

“People are going to have to play roles and accept roles.

“We are also going to have Rozee back so that will put a squeeze on but the boys understand that and that everyone will somewhat take their turn at some point.”
