Tensions were high on Saturday night as the Swans and the Brewers clashed with the Brewers emerging triumphant with a convincing 18-2 victory.

Brewers capitalised at the bat early with an impressive nine run to nil lead at the end of the second inning.

Swans managed a single run in the third but were unable to match the task set by the boys in blue.

The pace saw little change with Brewers doubling their score with five in the third and four in the fourth.

Swans managed to pull in one more run in the fifth but it wasn’t enough to keep the match going.

The Brewers emerged winners after the mercy rule was declared.

Brewers’ Brendan Bush led the charge from the batting box, with a staggering seven RBIs, four from a grand slam. Luke Bush and Anthony Grace followed in second, with a single RBI each.

Luke Bush went two singles from three times at bat while Grace went two from two.

Ash Christensen and Anthony Baker shared top spot on the Swans’ batting chart, both with a single RBI. Christensen from a double and Baker from a single.

Dylan Brown pitched the five innings for the Brewers and sent a total of five Swans back to the bench.

By contrast, the Swans pitchers shared the load. They started with Christensen for two innings. He was followed by John Ziegelaar and Morris Coppin.

All three managed a single strikeout from their time at the mound.

The fixtured rounds are now over and teams are looking towards the finals.

The prelim for Reserves takes place on Friday, March 8, and A- grade on Saturday, March 9.
