Boomers in Australia for Cup qualifiers
The Australian men's basketball team will play their first games on home soil since capturing their Olympic bronze medal in June and July.
The Boomers will play in Melbourne, which has won hosting rights for the International Basketball Federation's World Cup Asian qualifiers.
Australia will headline the qualifying series involving China, Japan and Chinese Taipei at Melbourne's John Cain Arena from June 30 to July 4.
The Boomers will meet China on June 30, Japan on July 1 and China again on July 3.
The timing means there's the potential for Australian players currently overseas to return home to play, said Victoria's Tourism, Sport and Major Events Martin Pakula, who announced the qualifying series on Friday.
