Fremantle look set to take another hit from AFLW expansion with Port Adelaide circling forward Gemma Houghton.

The two-time All-Australian looks poised to join three-time premiership player Erin Phillips at the Power after weighing up interest from crosstown rivals West Coast.

Houghton has kicked 40 goals from her 46 games for Fremantle but finished with an inaccurate 9.16 last season, failing to kick a goal in six games, including the club’s preliminary final loss against Adelaide.

The 28-year-old wasn’t involved in Fremantle’s AFLW lap of honour during the club’s men’s game against North Melbourne on Friday night.

Dockers winger Steph Cain has already committed to Essendon, while Jasmin Stewart (retired), Ann McMahon and Tiah Toth (delisted) won’t return to Fremantle next season.

Inactive forward Sabreena Duffy is unlikely to be available for the upcoming season after undergoing foot surgery.
