VideoAFL: Fremantle Dockers Justin Longmuir addressed the media following his side's brilliant win over the Adelaide Crows.

David Mundy was arguably Fremantle’s best on ground in their gutsy road win over Adelaide yesterday, but he may have saved his best work until after the final siren.

Mundy’s red-hot form has been one of the Dockers’ biggest talking points this season, with the man who turns 36 later in the season defying his age to star in the early rounds.

The midfielder had nine of his 28 touches in the final term to help spark yesterday’s win, adding a late goal to get Freo over the line.

After the game, Mundy earned praise from one fan who reached out to the club to thank the veteran after he “absolutely made my son’s day”.

“We saw him at the fence and our son wanted to but couldn’t make himself go say hello as he was so nervous and scared and really struggles with social skills,” the supporter wrote.

“My husband went over and asked if he could wave to him.

“Mundy gave him a thumbs-up and Lucas was so happy and waving and then Mundy waved him to come down and he could not get down the stairs quick enough.

“Not that he knew but our son has Autism and this just made his day, so thank you so very much!”

The popular Mundy’s typically kind act drew praise from Australian NBA wing Joe Ingles, who has become an Autism ambassador since his son Jacob’s diagnosis in 2019.

“You absolute legend David Mundy,” Ingles wrote on Twitter.

Fremantle’s win in Ingles’ home town of Adelaide marked their first there since 2015.
