Spain's Adri Arnaus has shot a seven-under par 64 for the second consecutive day to take a one-shot lead into the third round of the Canary Islands Championship.

The Spaniard had eight birdies and a bogey to reach 14-under for the tournament on Friday, ahead of second-placed Garrick Higgo, of South Africa, who carded an eight-under 63 to stay one behind.

A group of four players was another shot back, including first round leader Francesco Laporta, of Italy, who followed his nine-under 62 with a 68.

Australia's challenge, amid a host of low scores, was enhanced by veteran Scott Hend, who shot a five-under 66 to follow up his opening round of 67. At nine-under, he was five shots off the pace at halfway in joint-14th place.

His compatriot Maverick Antcliff had a good day too, firing a seven-under 64 featuring seven birdies and not one dropped shot as he moved to eight-under for the tournament.

The European Tour is back in Tenerife for a second consecutive week in what is the third and final event of the Canary Islands Swing.
