Super Netball is forging ahead with plans for a full 14-week season, with round one kicking off on May 1.

After spending a truncated 2020 season in a hub in Queensland, Super Netball is aiming at playing a proper home and away season.

That will be followed by a three-week finals series, with the grand final set down for August 29.

Each team is set to host seven home games in front of fans as the Melbourne Vixens aim to win successive titles.

The full fixture is due to be released in late February.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the 2020 season, acting Super Netball general manager Dave Lee was happy to announce the start date of the 2021 season.

"To have the season start date locked away is fantastic - it gives the entire league some certainty about what we're all working towards," he said.

"With the potential for the pandemic to again impact the season, possibly leading to border closures at short notice, we understand we need to have as much flex as possible in our contingency planning and that changes may need to be made to the fixture during the season, but our team and the entire league are prepared to again be working in a very fluid environment."
