Perth Glory chief executive Anthony Radich ‘very happy’ with 2025-26 A-League Men’s and Women’s fixtures

Perth Glory chief executive Anthony Radich has declared the club’s 2025-26 A-League Men’s schedule as one of the best they have had, despite a four-game away swing due to them being locked out of HBF Park. After back-to-back wooden spoons, Perth will enjoy six of their first nine and eight of their first 13 men’s games at home, including their season opener against Wellington Phoenix on Saturday October 18 at 6.45pm. Complicating matters later in the season will be HBF Park’s role as a host venue for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, which will see Perth go more than a month without a home game. During that stretch, Glory will travel for games against Adelaide United and Brisbane Roar in consecutive weeks, before heading to New Zealand to face Auckland FC and Wellington Phoenix. Six of Perth’s final nine games are away, but it is offset by three of the last five taking place back at HBF Park. The ongoing drama surrounding Western United’s involvement in next season delayed the fixture reveal by a month, but Radich said the club was happy with the men’s schedule upon its release on Thursday morning. “We’re very happy. The initial draft we had when Western United was still part of the competition was a good one for us,” Radich said. “We were pretty happy with that but the revision that came through, unfortunately with Western United dropping out, was better. “It’s one of the better draws we’ve had in a long time, that ticks a lot of boxes for us.” Radich said the month away from HBF Park was a reality of an unavoidable situation. “You can’t get all your wishes fulfilled. We’ve got a month on the road, which isn’t ideal, but it’s towards the back end — hopefully we’ve got enough credits in the bank to see us through a month away,” he said. Conversely, Perth’s women’s side will start their campaign away to Western Sydney Wanderers on Friday October 31, which is the first of four away matches in their opening five games. Their first home match comes at HBF Park against Brisbane Roar on Friday November 7 as part of a double-header with the men’s team. “The girls are always going to have a tough start in the foreseeable future, because they do their renovations at Sam Kerr Football Centre at that time. It’s always going to be a challenge.” However, after an early December bye, six of the women’s next eight games take place at Sam Kerr Football Centre, which Radich was pleased to see. Back on the men’s side, Glory will stay in New Zealand for their two games against their Kiwi opponents, and will likely do similar over the new year for a two-game series in Melbourne against City and Victory. In total, HBF Park will host six Saturday night, five Friday night and two Sunday men’s home games. The women’s league will break for the Women’s Asian Cup.
