Perth Scorchers will hope there will be no New Year’s hangover for their batting line-up after being sent into bat in their crucial clash against the Hobart Hurricanes.

The Scorchers are looking to take maximum points away from their road trip after Ashton Turner’s stunning 99* helped them even the ledger heading into the midpoint of their season with a win over Sydney Thunder.

It leaves Perth currently sitting third on the ladder, but with the Strikers, Sixers and Heat all level with them on two wins.

With wicketkeeper Josh Inglis recalled to the Test squad, the Scorchers have brought back Nick Hobson, while Aaron Hardie has moved up the order to No.4 after his impressive performance in Sydney.

But they face a tall order in keeping the momentum going against a Hobart Hurricanes side that has won nine straight games at their Ninja Stadium home, and who beat them in a Boxing Day thriller.

Hurricanes made one change, recalling Mac Wright after the loss of Beau Webster, while they will be without the services of Tim David, whose season was ended by a hamstring injury.
