SW stars set to take flight for Swan Districts

SWFL superboot Bethany Bond is set to make her highly anticipated return to the WAFLW on Sunday afternoon, after being named in Swan Districts’ side to face Claremont at Revo Fitness Stadium.

Following a few seasons with Peel Thunder, Bond returned to her beloved South Bunbury, where she became not only a premiership captain, but the first player to kick 100 career goals in the SWFL women’s competition.

Busselton product Demi Liddle has been listed as an onballer for the clash, while Bond’s South Bunbury teammate Charli Wicksteed — who won last season’s SWFL rising star award for the women’s competition — has been included on an expanded interchange bench.

However for South West football supporters and families, the excitement does not end there.

Several SWFL products have also been included in Sunday’s Development and Rogers Cup teams for the black and whites, including Eaton’s Emily Bourne.

Sunday will cap off a memorable weekend for South West talent, with sisters Ebony (league) and Holly Bilcich (Rogers Cup) included in victories for Peel Thunder last night against Subiaco in Mandurah.
