WA’s sporting clubs have rallied behind the New South Wales community in the wake of Sunday’s deadly terror attack at Sydney’s Bondi Beach.

A pair of attackers opened fire on crowds celebrating the Jewish holiday festival of Chanukah on Sunday night, which has so far led to the deaths of 15 people, as well as one of the gunmen.

West Coast led the tributes from WA, saying they were “sending their hearts and thoughts from the West” to those impacted by the tragedy.

“Our hearts are with the victims, their loved ones and everyone impacted by the tragic and horrifying events at Bondi yesterday,” the Eagles’ statement said.

“The courage of those who risked their own safety for the protection of others represents the best of the Australian community.

“We stand together at this distressing time.”

Fremantle’s statement said their thoughts were with the Jewish community and anyone who had been affected by the tragic events.

“As a club built on connection and care, we stand with the community in grief,” the Dockers said.

“We also acknowledge the courage shown by the first responders and brave civilians who put themselves at risk to protect others.

“In times like this, we’re reminded of the power of unity and the importance of looking after each other.”

Perth Wildcats — who hosted Sydney Kings at RAC Arena on Friday night — said they were “deeply saddened by the senseless acts of violence at Bondi Beach yesterday.”

“Our love and support are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected,” the Wildcats said in a statement.
