West Coast extend trio of young Eagles as Jobe Shanahan, Rhett Bazzo and Bo Allan secure new deals
West Coast have re-signed a trio of young guns in Jobe Shanahan, Rhett Bazzo and Bo Allan as they prepare to finish their 2025 season.
As revealed by The West Australian earlier this month, the Eagles were set to offer Bazzo, 21, an extension with the defender signing a one-year deal to remain at the club until the end of 2026.
It comes after The West Australian also reported Shanahan, 19, was set to extend his deal at the Eagles by a further two years, locking him away until the end of 2028.
Top 2024 draftee Allan, 19, has added another season to his initial three-year draft contract, meaning he is also locked in until at least the the end of 2028.
Shanahan has been one of the biggest shining lights for the one-win Eagles, booting nine goals in eight games since making his debut in round 16.
Drafted with pick No.30 last year, Shanahan kicked a career-high three majors in the nine-point defeat to Adelaide earlier this month to confirm his immense talent.
“We are really excited to see Jobe sign on for two more years,” Eagles list boss Matt Clarke said.

“He has shown his ability on-field and his work ethic off-field. It’s a great sign of commitment to the club.”
Bazzo was out of contract at the end of this season, but has played the past six games for the Eagles down back since overcoming foot surgery in the pre-season.
Drafted with pick No.37 in 2021, Bazzo has now played 27 games and will be part of West Coast’s rebuild into next year at least.
“It has been great to see Rhett get continuity in his body and show the form required at WAFL to break into the AFL side,” Clarke said.
“He is a very popular member of our playing group, and he has battled through adversity to achieve this result.
“A strong pre-season will set Rhett up for a big 2026.”

Meanwhile, Allan was restricted to only six games in his first year because of illness and suspension, before a syndesmosis injury sustained at training this month ended his 2025 season prematurely.
“Bo has terrific athletic tools and competitive traits that will enable him to play multiple roles in our coach Andrew McQualter’s system,” Clarke said.
“He is highly motivated and committed to becoming the best player he can be.”
