Australian mid-courter Alice Teague-Neeld has become the first player West Coast Fever have locked away for the next Super Netball season.

Teague-Neeld has recommitted to Fever for an undisclosed number of years, with the club reluctant to reveal how long the 2022 premiership star has signed for when contacted.

It comes days after The West Australian revealed Fever had told captain Jess Anstiss they would not renew her contract for next season, leaving the wing defender stranded on 149 games for the club.

Every Fever player was out-of-contract after their preliminary final loss to the Melbourne Vixens in June because the collective player agreement was not extended before the season came to an end.

Teague-Neeld will remain at Fever despite originally being from Victoria, having joined the West Australian club ahead of the 2019 season, where she has gone from a goal attack to one of the best midcourters in the country.

“Fever has been my home for the past eight seasons, and I’m incredibly grateful to pull on the green dress again,” she said.

“I’m really looking forward to continue to grow as a netballer, representing this club and seeing what we can achieve together here in the west.”

Fever general manager Sara Francis-Bayman said the club was thrilled to welcome back Teague-Neeld, who had become a central part of the squad during her time at the club.

“Re-signing Alice is an important part of our plans for 2027. She controls the line for us in attack and is a key feeder to our shooters,” she said.

“Her reliability and calmness give everyone around her confidence, whilst bringing composure and consistency to our attack end.

“She continues to raise her standards each year, and because of this hard work and dedication to our program, she has been rewarded with Australian Diamonds selection.

“Alice’s leadership on and off the court makes our club better, and we look forward to seeing what she brings in 2027.”

Teague-Neeld was restricted to only 13 games this season because of a serious back complaint which she battled through for most of the latter parts, including finals.

She was named in the Australian Diamonds squad for 2026-2027 back in May, having made her debut against South Africa in 2025 when she played in all three games and won player of the series.
