Super Netball will return to WA in April with West Coast Fever to play Sunshine Coast Lightning in two pre-season clashes in Kalgoorlie.

Fever will take on the Lightning in on Saturday, April 10 and the following day at the Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre.

Fever will also host a free open training session as well as community clinics as part of their tour of the Goldfields.

West Coast Fever general manager of pathways and performance Sue Gaudion said engaging with WA’s regional and remote communities was important to the club.

“West Coast Fever belongs to the whole of WA and it’s great to have such opportunities to bring elite netball to regional and remote communities to strengthen our connection with our regional fanbase,” she said.

“We thank the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the State Government, and the Gold Industry Group for their support.”

Last year’s grand finalists did not play any official Super Netball game in WA last year because of COVID-19, instead spending the season in Queensland.

Fever hosted the Giants in two Goldfields pre-season clashes last year, walking away with 74-58 and 70-50 victories.

Their last game in WA came in an exhibition match against a WA All-Stars at RAC Arena.

Fixtures for the 2021 Super Netball Season are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
