Big win for classic trek

Australian adventure travel specialist World Expeditions has won the Northern Territory Tourism’s Brolga Award for best ecotourism product its Classic Larapinta Trek in Comfort.

This is the third time the 6-day Classic Larapinta Trek in Comfort, operated by World Expeditions’ domestic brand Australian Walking Holidays, has won the award. The previous two occasions were in 2016 and 2017.

The Brolga Awards are the Northern Territory’s official tourism awards program and recognise and encourage tourism businesses that strive for excellence.

The Ecotourism Award recognises outstanding ecologically sustainable tourism products, with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas that foster environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation.

The Northern Territory Tourism Brolga Awards are open to tourism operators, industry suppliers and outstanding individuals. As a winner of the 2019 Brolga Award in the ecotourism category, World Expeditions will represent the Northern Territory at the Australian Tourism Awards to be held in Canberra in March 2020.
