Here are some of the pictures and stories we have received so far. We’ll share more over the coming days at thewest.com.au.

Brad Van Luxemborg sent us the fantastic picture above, which he took during a scenic flight in Wyndham.

Brad writes, “Here’s one of my favourite shots from my recent trip to Kununurra. It was well worth getting up pre-dawn for a scenic flight from Emma Gorge at El Questro to see the dawn of another day light up the slinky King River as it winds its way through the landscape near Wyndham in the north Kimberley.”

Leonie Smith from Albany shared a couple of very nice pictures, and some memories, from Russia:

“Russia was nothing at all like we were expecting. The architecture is absolutely beautiful and to see St Basil’s Basilica in Moscow, particularly at night just takes the breath away. It looks fabulous in pictures but until you see it in real life, nothing prepares you for it.”

Joan Munckton of Kensington writes:

“I find that many of the best travel memories revolve around people that we meet along the way. I've attached a few photos that have been taken in Ethiopia, India and Morocco that reflect this. I especially love the one of the man who lived in a cave near the top of the Todra Gorge in Morocco, who was very happy to make tea for a few weary hikers and loved having us visit him.”

We totally agree. Nice picture, Joan.

Geoff Palmer shared one of his favourite pictures taken in Glenbrittle on the Isle of Skye during a recent trip to Scotland.

He writes: “In a remote area far away from the usual tourist haunts I found this gem, with a stream and the Cuillin Hills in the background plus amazing clouds. I had the place to myself.” Geoff took the picture with his Sony A7III and a 28-75mm Tamron lens.

Mark Harrison’s favourite shot of a numbat is an absolute beauty — and it would have been hard to get. Well done, Mark.

“It’s difficult to see our State animal emblem at the best of times, so I was very happy to see this one whilst bushwalking at Dryandra Woodlands. A great place for birding, camping and seeing other animals in WA.”
