Aussie market icon Tom Piotrowski moves to NAB after more than two decades as CommSec’s market analyst

Aussie market icon Tom Piotrowski has joined NAB after more than 24 years offering financial market commentary at CommSec. The big four bank on Friday announced Mr Piotrowski, one of the country’s most recognisable and respected market commentators, will spearhead NAB Private Wealth and nabtrade’s financial market commentary. “Mr Piotrowski has spent over 20 years helping Australians make sense of the markets with his mix of clarity, expertise, wit, and a touch of flair,” NAB said in a statement. Mr Piotrowski has been a familiar face on Australian TV offering market insights on behalf of CommSec, with a mix of expertise, clarity and dry wit. “I’ve always believed finance doesn’t have to be boring, so I aim to make sense of the markets in a way that’s accessible for the seasoned investor, the first-time stock buyer and everyone in between trying to do better financially for their families and futures,” Mr Piotrowski said of his move to NAB. “I’m delighted to be joining a bank and team that is so focussed on customers and delivering the service, products and insights to support their financial needs.” His fanbase soared after he began appearing on TV with long hair and a beard from 2013 – attracting numerous fan Facebook groups as a result of his distinct style. Finance executive Nik Kritikos is also joining NAB Private Wealth alongside Mr Piotrowski. The bank said Mr Kritikos would “lead a team of relationship managers providing equity market solutions to nabtrade’s top clients”. “Nik has a deep understanding of client needs and market dynamics and will be instrumental in supporting our high-net worth and private banking clients with their trading requirements,” NAB Private Wealth executive Michael Saadie said. “Nik will also leverage Tom’s daily insights and expertise to deliver a differential experience for our clients. “Together their appointments reflect our ongoing investment in nabtrade and our commitment to delivering the most comprehensive private wealth offer in the Australian market.” Mr Piotrowski and Mr Kritikos will start their new roles with NAB in early January 2026.
