While some are cutting back spending on eating out, others are throwing cash at taking their pooch out for a meal.

Fremantle restaurant Emily Taylor is introducing Doggy Dumpling Sundays, where punters can bring their four-legged-friends to their courtyard every Sunday to feast on dog-friendly beef and mince dumplings.

Emily Taylor hospitality director Tim Buctkon said doggy beer — which is actually beef stock — was also on offer for thirsty pups.

The meal will set punters back $5 for three dumplings or $10 with a beer.

Mr Buctkon said the event had already received strong support.

“We put it out on Facebook and there are hundreds of people that have liked it or shared it,” he said.

“People are saying, ‘I can’t wait to take (my dog) out for dinner . . . they’ve finally found a way to bring the dogs down.’

“People love engaging with their animals and bringing them and including them in their lives.

“We often have a DJ playing on Sunday’s (which is) always popular, so we thought ‘why not include the dogs?’”
