A popular toddlers toy sold at Kmart is being urgently recalled over concerns it is unsafe and may pose a choking hazard.

The consumer watchdog has issued the warning for the Anko-brand Pop and Surprise Playset sold at both Kmart and Target stores.

The activity toy is aimed at children aged under three years.

“Small screws may separate from the toy and become a choking hazard,” the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said in its recall notice.

“Risk of serious injury or death by choking if small parts separate from the toy and a child places them in their mouth.

“Incidents have occurred.

“Stop using this toy immediately and keep out of reach of children.”
