Emergency services rescue hiker who became unwell on overnight hike on the Stirling Range Ridge Walk

A hiker has been rescued from a trail near Bluff Knoll after he became unwell while on the Stirling Range Ridge Walk on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old man first made a call to emergency services on Tuesday afternoon, telling authorities he was feeling unwell.
However, he later reported he was feeling well enough to stay overnight on the mountain and continue his trek on Wednesday.
At about 6.55am on Wednesday, emergency services received a third call from the hiker seeking help, and crews were sent to the popular hiking spot to rescue him.
State Emergency Service crews, St John WA, WA Police, and Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions rangers planned a coordinated rescue effort, arriving on scene at about noon.
The RAC Rescue helicopter was also dispatched from Perth, and a winch rescue was considered on Wednesday afternoon but was abandoned due to bad weather.
A police spokesperson said at about 5.50pm on Wednesday, the man in distress was located by rescue crews about 850m from the summit of Bluff Knoll.
He was suffering from mild dehydration and was escorted safely out on foot, and assessed by paramedics but did not need to be transported to hospital via ambulance.
Police reminded people planning hiking trips to be well-prepared when planning a hiking trip, including checking weather before setting out, bringing a personal locator beacon, packing sufficient food and water, and telling others about your plans.
