
A woman’s body has been recovered from the waters of a popular Gold Coast location.
Emergency services were called to Crystal Beach in Tugun about 11.30am on Thursday after members of the public spotted a body in the water.

Police attended the scene with members of the public having already recovered the body.
Acting Inspector Peter Venz said that bystanders had pulled the young woman in from the ocean.
“Police received a phone call from members of the public, who had located a female adult that was in the surf and was deceased,” he said.
“Those members of the public managed to pull the deceased person up onto the beach.
“We currently have police four drives down on the beach, patrolling the beach, looking to see if there’s any belongings or towels or anything that could be located on the beach.”
In a statement, Queensland Police confirmed investigations were now under way into the circumstances of her death.
“Police are investigating after the body of a woman was located in waters off Tugun today, 18 June,” a spokesperson said.
“Initial information indicates that around 11.30am, a member of the public located the woman deceased at Crystal Beach on Golden Four Drive.
“Investigations are underway to identify the person and determine the cause of death.
“No further details are available at this time.”
