Raiders dominate, Drifters sail and Tigers roar in round two of Broome basketball

Teams clashed under the lights of the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre basketball courts in the thrilling second round of the Broome Basketball Association’s term one competition on February 22.

In a commanding display, the Raiders triumphed over the Drifterz 63-41.

The Drifterz’ Chris Hunter and the Raiders’ Brendon Thomas tied for top scorer of the match with 16 points each.

Despite the valiant effort, the Drifterz find themselves in last position on the ladder, while the Raiders hold steady in fourth place.

The Peninsula Bombers secured a narrow victory over the Gantheaume Pointers 33-28.

Jakheen Coaby led the Bombers as the top scorer of the match with 10 points, closely followed by the Pointers’ Taj Pairrottina on 9 points.

The Gantheaume Pointers maintained their grip on second position on the ladder, while the Bombers climbed to fifth.

The Tigers emerged victorious against the Jets 53-42.

Despite the loss, The Jets’ Brennan Stack showcased his skills as the top scorer of the match with 15 points.

Tremaine Hart and Lattrell Matthews shared the spotlight for the Tigers, each scoring 13 points.

The win helped the Tigers assert their dominance at the top of the ladder, while the Jets hold firm in third position.

In the women’s competition, the Raiders triumphed over the Tigers 14-10.

The Tigers’ Amanda Lawford and the Raiders’ Catherine Meehan-McCarthy both contributed four points, earning them the title of top scorers for the match.

In the social men’s competition, the Cobras emerged victorious in a closely contested match against the Broome Gators, 41-38.

The Gators’ Daniel Aspey stole the spotlight as the top scorer of the match with an impressive 20 points.

The win secured fifth spot on the ladder for the Cobras, while the Gators settle in seventh.

The Misfits continued their reign at the top of the ladder with a convincing victory over Broome Cleaning Services, 57-32.

Michael Haji-Ali led the charge for the Misfits with 17 points, while Hajji Magan showcased his skills for Broome Cleaning Services with 9 points.

The Misfits retain their top position, while Broome Cleaning Services finds themselves at the bottom of the ladder.

In another thrilling match, the Bumblebees emerged victorious over the Wolves, 48-30.

The Bumblebees’ Lattrell Sibosado was the top scorer of the match with 22 points.

With this win, the Bumblebees comfortably settled into second place while the Wolves held their ground in fourth.

MUA secured a solid victory against the Tigers, 54-43.
