Cyclone alert issued for Pilbara residents
A cyclone advice is current for people living in parts of the Pilbara and Kimberley.
Residents living between Kuri Bay and Port Hedland are being told to prepare their homes and families for a possible cyclone, bringing significant rainfall to the region.
The developing tropical low is expected to move over the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf on Wednesday and across the north Kimberley during Thursday.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has warned gusts of up to 100 kilometres per hour may develop in coastal parts between Kuri Bay and Bidyadanga, including Broome during Friday afternoon.
The warning extends to surrounding areas including Broome, Derby, Dampier Peninsula, Eighty Mile Beach, and Pardoo.
