Newman residents enjoyed a four-day festival of fun events and activities for WA Day.

Festival highlights included a circus, fitness sessions, a pool party and the launch of the Magical Park.

Shire of East Pilbara president Lynne Craigie hailed the festival a great success.

“The WA Day Festival in Newman is a celebration of the wonderful State we live in and a reminder of how lucky we are to call this part of WA home,” she said.

“We offer our sincere thanks to everyone who played a part in making this weekend happen.”

Boomerang Oval was transformed into a digital fantasy land for the whole weekend for kids and families to explore using the Magical Park app on their smartphone or tablet.

Dozens of people got active at the Les Mills Launch Party at the Newman Recreation Centre, which involved a range of group fitness sessions.

There was also a circus show and workshop by Ricochet Circus, a screening of Red Dog: True Blue, hip-hop workshops with Jason Bird and a pool party at the Newman Aquatic Centre.
