Share what it’s like to be 10

Children from across the Pilbara are being invited to portray what it means to be 10 years old in WA through words and art.

Commissioner for Children and Young People Colin Pettit said the project, aptly named We Are 10, was in line with his office’s 10th anniversary.

“Through their school, students will be asked to describe life at 10 in words and pictures,” he said.

“I’ll be reading these responses to get a snapshot of what children from all over the State think, which will then be displayed in my office, online and in regional centres.”

The commissioner will also select one submission from each region for special recognition, the creator of which will win a GoPro camera.

“I encourage all Pilbara primary schools to register their Year 4 classes to be a part of this exciting Statewide project,” Mr Pettit said.
