Water storage tanks across Port and South Hedland are in for a facelift as Water Corporation begin a number of upgrade works.

While work originally began in March to replace a one kilometre length of water main along Lukis Street and Sutherland Street in Port Hedland, a further 4.5km section will also be replaced connecting Port to South Hedland. Water Corporation north west regional manager, Rino Trolio said the upgrades will cater for the future growth and development of the town, which is supplied by the East Pilbara Water Supply Scheme.

“There projects will improve the reliability of the water supply and are expected to be completed in late June 2017,” he said.
