Mental health awareness will be front and centre of a series of workshops in the Pilbara.

The workshops will be hosted by FIFO mental health expert Lachie Samuel and will be held in Tom Price, Onslow, Paraburdoo and Pannawonica between September 18 and 21.

Mr Samuel will be joined by Liam Sorrell from the Australian Dads Network.

Mr Samuel said that men’s mental health often goes unnoticed until it’s too late and the workshop aims to help men find their voice.

“We’re calling all FIFO, DIDO and shift workers to come and take part,” he said.

“Liam and I will share our own experiences, stories, signs and symptoms as well as our coping strategies and details of local service providers who can help. We hope these workshops get the Pilbara talking about men’s mental health.”
