Hat up for mad tea party fun

Blanche Bar’s annual Mad Hatter’s Tea Party will return to Karratha and Hedland next month.

The Civic Centre Gardens will be transformed into a wonderland of food, drinks, games and entertainment on Saturday, May 6, from 2pm.

Event organiser Bart Parsons said people should dress up and come down for a relaxed afternoon and big, fun party.

“It’s a day of drinking in the sun, good food, good people,” he said.

“You don’t have to dress up if you don’t want to but it’s definitely encouraged.”

There will be beers, wine and spirits available as well as food by Blanche Bar catering and other local vendors.

Prizes will go to the best-dressed couple, individual and winners of the sausage-eating contest.

Mr Parsons said he was looking forward to Hedland’s event at such a great venue.

“I lived in Hedland for a while and I love Karratha obviously but Civic (Centre) Gardens is the jewel of all the venues, in my opinion,” he said.

Tickets are $29 and are available online to over-18s only.
