Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce and Industry general manager Tina Scott has been appointed to the executive board of the Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry of WA, marking the first time someone from the Pilbara has sat on the board.

Ms Scott said it was a great opportunity to share PHCCI’s successes and learn from other regional chambers across WA.

“I want to highlight the importance our small-to-medium businesses bring to our communities and the importance of advocating for their needs. This is also a huge learning opportunity for me to bring other chambers’ successes back to our members,” she said.

“I will be highlighting the importance of our local businesses and ensuring they have what they need to be successful and have longevity while making sure the Pilbara has a seat at the table and is heard.”

RCCIWA is a not-for-profit member-driven organisation made up of individual regional chambers and business associations all over WA, representing more than 7000 member businesses.

“Tina has resided in Port Hedland for over 14 years and has been actively involved with the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce for over 10 years, holding positions such as treasurer and secretary for five years before joining the team,” the RCCIWA said in a statement.

“Tina’s professional background encompasses finance, real estate, and business management. With a strong passion for fostering connections, enhancing regional liveability, and promoting advocacy, Tina has held positions on numerous boards and contributed to various local organisations.

“With a dedication to supporting local businesses, Tina is enthusiastic about marketing and sustainable development through training and education, while hosting some of the most prominent events in the Pilbara.

“Welcome on board Tina — we are excited to hear your fresh ideas and perspective.”
