Beloved 9x5 exhibition and fundraiser will feature more than 200 works

More than 200 same-sized artworks by local, regional and interstate artists will be on display and then auctioned in a much-loved exhibition and fundraiser event.
The Cannery Arts Centre’s 9x5 exhibition and fundraiser will run from November 14, showcasing unique works created on a nine-inch by five-inch canvas, using everything from acrylics and collage to watercolours, ceramics, pen, oil, encaustic wax and textiles.
Artistic director of the main gallery Alex Desebrock said she could not wait for people to see the works on display.
“I’ve been blown away by the quality and generosity of our artistic community,” she said.
“I can’t wait to share these works.
“There is truly something for everyone.
“From bold six-year-old abstracts to intricate stitching, coastal landscapes, fish prints and turtle mosaics, the diversity is remarkable.”
All works will be up for auction in December to raise funds for the arts centre’s year-round arts programs, workshops and events.
Pencil bidding will run throughout the exhibition, leading up to the live auction on December 14, when art lovers can enjoy a lively morning of bidding, food, drinks, and friendly rivalry.
The free exhibition will officially open with a special artists’ preview on Thursday, November 13, and will be open to the public from November 14-December 13.
